WHAT IS GO PARROT?

Go Parrot is an AI driven enterprise level online ordering, loyalty, and marketing platform. Their users are restaurant owners, who use the Go Parrot dashboard to input all the information for their webstore. This includes location, menu, promotion, loyalty, and delivery information.

THE CHALLENGE

Go Parrot brought me on as a UX Researcher and Designer because their users, the restaurant owners, are generally not tech savvy, meaning that they were having difficulty inputting all the necessary information into the dashboard themselves. The result of this was that the Go Parrot onboarding and customer support teams were having to do a lot of this over the phone for the restaurant owners. We needed to find a way to make the Go Parrot dashboard more user friendly so that the restaurant owners could set up their own webstore.

RESEARCH

There were several steps in order to find the areas of improvement for the Go Parrot dashboard.

  • I conducted interviews with the CEO, the Product Manager, and the Onboarding Manager of Go Parrot to identify the main pain points of the users that they had received through phone conversations or emails.

  • I participated in onboarding calls where new users where walked through the dashboard and listened for their wants, needs, concerns, and frustrations.

  • I analyzed competitors in the online ordering and payment space to see how they were clearly communicating what information needed to be input.

DISCOVERIES

In order to clearly communicate what was needed from the user and why we needed more visible descriptions

Descriptions were added for clarification

In case the descriptions were still not enough for the user, we added Crave's Suport Center where there could be detailed instructions and examples of how to input or find the information necessary.

PROJECT OUTCOMES

During my time at Go Parrot, I provided the wireframes for the updated versions of the promotions, loyalty, users, locations, and orders pages. I also built a franchise page from scratch. Some of the most important elements of these designs have already gone live depending on the product road map and customer needs. One feature that I worked on as a part of the orders page was order throttling which has gone live.
